lady and their two daughters emerged at the victory party. >> while our road has been hard, while our journey has been long, we have picked ourselves up. we have fought our way back and we know in our hearts that for the united states of america the best is yet to come. >> president obama and his family spent the in chicago. mitt romney made his concession speech just after midnight. romney said he and paul ryan gave everything they had to the campaign. >> i so wish i had been able to

fulfill the hopes to lead the country in a different direction. so ann and i ask to you pray for the -- ask you to pray for the nation. 7:03. governor jerry brown is claiming an historic victory for the first time in eight years. california voters have approved a state-wide tax hike. californians passed proposition 30. ktvu's tara moriarty is in san francisco one of the biggest backers of the measure. >> reporter: it's no secret that public schools in san francisco are struggling. so for that reason, many parents decided to put their kids in private schools.

also, voters in alameda and santa cruz county had support as well. but mo-dot county did not support this proposition. this is mission high school. in san francisco, it's it's the oldest -- it's the oldest high school. governor jerry brown spoke to supporters at the sheridan hotel before 11:30. he said nowhere else in the country would people vote for an education tax. >> here we are, we have a vote of the people. >> now, prop 30 will raise taxes for people who make at least $250,000 by up po 3

percentage points for three years. it's expected to raise $6 billion a year for three years for the schools. live from san francisco, i'm tara moriarty, ktvu channel 2 news. thank you. a competing measure, proposition 38 went down handling to defeat. you can see the yes vote just got 28%, the no vote got 72% t was bankrolled by a millionaire attorney and would have raised the taxes of middle an and upper class. turning to the races right here in the bay area. some close races. one upset. >> ktvu's claudine wong joins us live in the studio to take us through all of these election results. >> reporter: there are a few races we want to talk about this morning that shows you the congressional district here in the bay area. let's talk you to the 15th

district. it was democrat verses democrat thanks to the top new primary system. this has been pete stark's district for the past 42 years. he's california's longest- serving member of congress. check out these latest numbers that show -- check out what happened in the third race. some other race, let's take you to district 12. that is nancy pelosi's

district. she's the winner by a commanding 85-15%. we go to number 13, district 13, that's barbara lee. 86-14%. go down to the peninsula to see jackie pierce' race. 78% to 22%. and there we have george miller, 69-35%. significant margins. let's go downsouth. a lot of decisive -- a -- down south. a lot of decisive victories. republicans renew their hold on the majority -- majority in the house.

all right. there's some real gridlock on highway 24. >> oh, boy. >> it's the noncommute direction, right? >> that's right. there's only one tunnel open in that direction. eastbound 24 at welder. there was a nine-car crash. we had some video of it taken just a few moments ago. eastbound 24. nine cars, three people taken to the hospital and westbound 24. a lot of people were slow toking to take a look at -- were slowing to take a look at this. quite a response from fire and paramedicses here. let's -- paramedics here. let's take a look at the westbound bay bridge. that's a live picture getting into san francisco. livermore valley. we've have some slow traffic. westbound 680 a minor crash on the shoulder. 880 from from montis getting a

little bit -- 0 from fremont -- 880 is getting slow from from mont. let's go to steve. any snow will fall below 3,000 feet. turning volder -- colder tomorrow. cloud, some showers, and then cold temperatures. a couple of people have said, i was looking at the weather app. by the end of the week, is that correct? >> yes. >> clouds will roll in, the breeze will pick up. san jose was 80. sfo at 78. some of the records but there are records again all the way out to stockton. so 10 to 15 degrees above average for this time of year. now we start to slide to near normal and then we'll see a dramatic drop as we go 10, 15

degrees below normal. it doesn't have a lot with it. but the lows are a lot closer than they were yesterday. yesterday, we had 40s to 60s. now it's upper 40s to low to mid-60s. most of the activities up stream and that's in the form of cold air. you can see the system coming out of a cold source. fog is back. watch out for reduced visibility. once a system goes through, that doesn't do much rainwise. that's what's -- that's what's coming in friday, late thursday into friday. you will notice a cold air. fog, sun, cooler. a westerly wind. say good poi to the easterly or westerly wind. good boy to the easterly or westerly wind. colder, showers move in. more cold. your weekend always in view, it looks better, but it will be

very brisk in the morning. >> thank you, night news out of newark where firefighters are looking into the cause of a house fire. it started around 2:00 a.m. at a home on marion drive. two people who live in the home say they were awakened by the flames. they managed to grab their four children and get out of the home safely. >> we were in bed and i -- and i -- i just woke up and i saw red. >> the red cross is helping the family to stay. and firefighters believe the family dog died in the fire. a big rig slammed into the center divide last night in albany. that sent chunks of concrete into the opposite lane. the semi carried mail but no mail was lost. it took five years before all

there's disappointment that he did not prevail. >> i'm not feeling quite as bad as i thought. several of my dearest friends almost made me cry but not quite. >> republicans also point to other victories like keeping control of the house of representatives. it's 7:15. voters decided not to shake up congress last night despite record-low approval ratings. republicans will keep control of the house while democrats main thane their majority in the senate. alison burns is in our washington, d.c. newsroom with the political landscape everging on capitol hill this morning. alison? >> reporter: earlier this year, republicans thought the senate and total control of congress was within their reach. but they didn't get it. democrats have 51 seats for the majority. republicans, 45. there are two independents and two seats are still two close to call. there were some upsets.

democrats captured republican seats in massachusetts and indiana. as elizabeth warren defeated senator scott brown and joe donnelly beat republican richard murdock. democrats picked up a -- richard mourdock. john bohner will san jose power. the analysts we're talking to say it's unlikely that nancy pelosi will be forced from power. >> the job seems to be hers if she wants it. >> reporter: both sides are already laying their battlelines. house speaker john boehner and harry reid have both scheduled news conferences to talk about the so-called fiscal cliff of

those taxes that will kick in at the end the year. back to you. one of the recognizable figure -- most recognizable figures, dianne feinstein, she defeated a nonprofit executive from danville. you can see the difference in the votes -- in the votes, 68% to 35%. now, senator feinstein hugged her family during a victory party and she spoked up after her granddaughter introduced her on stage. >> that i would be lucky enough to -- that i'm just a small part of who she is.

>> i'm really choked up. >> i love you. >> she raised more than $9 million for her campaign. nancy pelosi is expected to be re-elected to congress but she received bad news before the election. her napa home was burglarized on monday when no one was there. sheriff deputies responded after thieves triggered an alarm. when they arrived, they found smashed glass. it's unclear if the suspects got away with anything. no arrests have been made. and overnight shooting in san jose seriously injured one man, it happened last night at south winchester boulevard and cadillac drive. at first police said two men were shot. but only one was hit. a san jose men killed by

san jose police, he was grieving the death of his brother at the time. dewan eden just found out that his younger brother accidentally shot himself when he got into a domestic violence ins incident with his wife on sunday night. police say they rushed to the home and were forced to shoot him when eden refused to drop a night. his father says his son was hit eight times. in fresno, investigators still want to know the motive for yesterday's deadly shooting at a meat processing plant. authorities say 34-year-old lawrence jones shot four of his co workers quillingsh -- killing four of them and seriously injuring two of them. the "fresno bee" reports that he had a criminal record that dates back to the 1990s, including several prison stints.

police described the killing yesterday as methodical and say it appears all of the victims were targeted. cooler weather has arrived. also, the unexpected switch some people say they ran into election day when they tried to vote for their candidate of choice. good morning. westbound 24 -- i'm sorry. westbound 80. it looks pretty good. i have 24 on my mind and show should you. we'll tell you what's going on there that could delay you big time. =8

a big party outside of the white house last night celebrating president obama's re-election. the crowds started gathering after several news outlets started to declare president

obama over mitt romney. the obamas are set to return to washington, d.c. later today. new yorkers were able to follow the election just by looking at the empire state building. l.e.d. lights displayed and lit up in blue after president obama was re-elected. some voters described strange problems with voting machines when they tried to vote yesterday. one reported problem was in pueblo county, colorado, a swing state which president obama ended up winning. voters say there -- say there was a glitch in the ballot machines that automatically changed votes in the president's favor. >> when an individual would press the romney button, it would come up obama on the printed record. >> those machines in question were taken out of use. the voters got a chance to

recast their ballots. let's check in with sal. i know there's problems on east 24. is that causing rubbernecking and slowing down the commute. >> yes, it is. as a matter of fact, westbound 24, we have a big traffic jam as a result. now, eastbound 24. you are looking at the aftermath of a truck accident on the shoulder eastbound bound. as chip, who can here me i'm sure, pan to the -- pans to the right, that's the 24 westbound. people have been slowing down to take a look now -- see that sign that says both tunnels open? westbound, one tunnel open eastbound and 24 in oakland is backed up big time. people who drive from oakland to orinda. wow, this is a terrible backup. if you want to use an alternate use highway 13 to -- westbound

time is coming up on 7:30. president obama is heading back to washington this afternoon after being relengthed to another four years in the white house. right now, he has at least 303 electoral votes more than -- more than the number required to win. [no audio] this morning, the state of florida has still not been called for either president. [ cheers ] >> thousands of supporters for president obama were at his

victory -- victory in chicago. president obama addressed them after the victory. he said "the best is yet to come." 7:30. well, hundreds of obama supporters here in the bay area gathered in san francisco watching the election returns come in. >> yes, we can! yes, we can! >> this was the democratic watch party in the castro district. the crowd cheered for each of the states that president obama won. now, mitt romney's speech early this morning was a gracious one. we'll take you live to boston. we'll take a look at what went wrong for the romney campaign. many people are crediting the campaign organization as one of the reasons for his re- election win. the political reporter joins us via skype joins us outside of washington, d.c. how did obama's campaign get out the vote efforts really pay off?

>> reporter: well, if you break down the redales and start -- details and start -- and start looking at them, it's almost county by county, the president winning most of the same counties in florida and in ohio and then you start then going into the details and you see that the democrats were able to get out of vote again and sometimes mitt romney was not even able to reach the level of what john mccain had gone four years ago. one example in franklin county, the obama people were able to get 15,000 more votes than people while the mccain levels were not reached by romney. down in south florida, miami- dade, home to marco rubio. the romney campaign couldn't come close as the obama squeezed the out 70,000 than their 130,000 four years ago.

we saw these numbers repeated all over. >> so, what does. gop need to do? >> some say they really need a bigger tent, invite more my another -- minorities. others say that romney was too moderate. >> reporter: i've heard that. there is a lot of hand wringing going on. and i think the knives will come out as to what happened and what went wrong. you know, at -- romney does remind me a little of john mccain in the same type of campaign, not conner is ra -- not conservative enough for enough of the republicans but remember how todd akin and other remarks hurt them -- hurt him. there is a lot of answers out there. i'm not sure that republicans are agreeing on what's best.

south bay. but first, let's go to brian flores in downtown oakland. you've been looking at the newspaper headlines this morning, brian. >> reporter: yes, that's right, you were probably waking up to headlines that president obama will be serving now -- to another four years. here is e"usa requested -- here is -- here's" usa today "and the" chronicle." it's hard to get this newspaper. it's been selling like hot cakes. no surprise here in california that the president will be serving now four years. >> i'm excited. four years ago was my birthday was when the election happened.

i got a chance to see obama being elected into our president. >> i was glad that obama won largely because of the supreme court. i have a 24-year-old daughter and you know, a repeal of roe v. wade, you know, making chice -- making choices more difficult for women. >> reporter: and the president getting the 270 electoral votes needed to become president. there's -- there is a sense of cautious optimism as well. we spoke to a couple of people who said the excitement is not the same as 2008. they also say that the president has a lot to live up to. especially when it comes to educating and jobs. if you are in the newspaper business, definitely a good day. news newspapers are selling

like hot cakes. and this is the tribune from four years ago. these are down here as well. brian flores, ktvu channel 2 news. >> thank you. janine de la vega is live with more results. >> reporter: good morning. we've been talking to a lot of people as they've been getting their morning cup of coffee. there is a lot of mixed reaction as to which measures passed and which did not. voters approved measure d which includes raising the minimum wage. the minimum wage will increase from $8 to $10. this measure was developed by a group of state students and was touted by labor unions. they argue that -- some had

mixed feelings about it. >> it will help the folks. it will ephurt small businesses. it's -- it will hurt small businesses. it's kind of a mixed emotion to me. >> reporter: 56% of people voted yes for the measure-a. the passing means for the next ten years, the sales tax would increase to 8.5%. now, a measure that failed was measure e just 42% voted for it while 58 of people rejected this measure. this would have increased the amount of gaming tables at san jose's two card rooms and tax them. proponents say it would have generated $20 million in tax revenue but opponents argue that more gambling means more crime would occur in the cities

and the taxpayers would pay for it in the long run. i've put in a call to casino matrix which is one of the newest casinos to get reaction from them because we know they were hoping that measure e would pass. janine de la vega, ktvu channel 2 news. let's check traffic. sal, you have a lot to tell us. >> yeah. we're gonna talk about the highway 24 crash that was there for a long time. we have new video on highway 4. this is video of the crash taken a little while ago by our photographer who was on -- who's on the scene. the traffic is -- it's still recovering from the crash. this video, they moved all of the cars away. it took them a while to get the rains open. one car was in the bushes. this was a terrible crash. three people were sent to the

hospital eastbound near wilder. look at the damage. westbound 24 is also slow. that's part of a big rig there. give yourself extra time. the lanes are almost clear. >> let's go out to the toll plaza, westbound. it's about a 25-minute delay which is typical. less than that, i would say. more like 23, 22-minute delay. if you are driving on the nimitz freeway. it's been slow on 880 heading south. i want to tilt up here to the livermore commute. westbound 580 is another bad day coming in all the way up to el charo road. let's go to steve. thank you, sal. a very good morning. a lot of change here. we have low clouds back, clear skies, record highs, the fog has returned. it will be breezy. it will be breezy -- it will be breezy and cooler. this is more of a colder

dynamic system than it is rain but we'll get some shower activity or rain activity more likely late thursday into friday and high temperatures will be in the 50s. to 50s. yesterday, though, another record setting day. gilroy, 91 degrees. sfo checked in at 78 degrees. monday and tuesday temperatures were 10 to 15 degrees above average. we'll slide to near average. it looks like we'll bottom out friday into saturday. the first part of the system is now moving into the northern parent of the state. it's already pushed away -- pushed ahead a lot of the fog. it's 54 now. a lot closer here, very foggy towards san jose, also up into napa and hayward is reporting fog. a wed wind or a west directionally wind. the last couple of days, the

opposite. today, it's coming from the ocean. there is a lot of cold air bottled up here. it doesn't hold a lot of measure. you can see the front sliding through. now here comes the colder unstable air pain just moving in from the north. i think it -- i think it arrives and you will notice is as the snow level -- temperatures cooling down 50s, 60s and 70s. by tomorrow we'll be out of the 70s and into the 70s. on the coast, it takes a big dramatic drop and then everybody gets in you -- gets this by the cooler pattern. it will be very cold. but the -- it will be brisk and cool. the big news bringing stocks way down this morning.

also, the death penalty stays. voters are making some changes to the three strikes law.

in boston just before 1:00 a.m. eastern time to concede the race. he did not speak long and gave a speech very different from the one he hoped to give. here's more on how romney ended his campaign. emily? >> reporter: good morning to you. for the first time in foyer seeable memory, we have mitt romney not -- in foreseeable memory, we have mitt romney not in the public today. he had planned to give an acceptance speech. instead, it was the concession speech less than five minutes long in which he said he congratulated president obama on his win. in the early hours after a long election day, mitt romney said he had called the -- called president obama and the race was over. i so wish i had been able to fulfill your wishes and put the direction in another country. but the flakes chose another

leader. so ann and i join with you to earnestly pray. i believe in america and i'm running for president of the united states. >> and to the crowds who welcomed him on a last-minute day to ohio and pennsylvania. >> thank you. thank you. you guys are fabulous. thank you so much. >> neither state went romney's way making it impor for him to pick up the 270 electoral votes needed. >> the nation, as you know, is at a critical point. at a time like this, we can't risk partisan bickering and posturing. >> we may have battled fiercely but it's only because we love this country deeply and we care so strongly about its future. >> romney also talked about the country's future. >> i believe in the people of america. i'm concerned america. this election is over. but our principals be -- principles endure. >> reporter: so mitt romney will not be going to walk but paul ryan will. he won re-election with his wisconsin congressional seat. back to you. >> 7:47. some key ballot measures we want to talk about. randy shandobil is here with us in the studio. we want to talk about three strikes. but first we have to talk about education, prop 30, and this win for governor brown. 99% in, 54%, yes, 46% no. >> i'm sure the governor is breathing a sigh of relief. schoolteachers, administrators and parents are very happy. well, certainly, most parents. this is really quite a

remarkable achievement for governor brown he was having big money on one side and then he had -- and then he had a liberal attacker, molly munger, who was quiting the -- fighting -- fighting it and the numbers still survived. >> and before people were saying, he doesn't quite have 50%. it doesn't look right. he went this last-minute push. >> what do you think kind of pushed them over the edge? >> i think his sense of urgency, i think it -- there's no exit polls on it but i'm sure in the backlash against the -- i'm sure the money laundering didn't help. people realize that the state is in i don't think people prop -- i

don't think people like prop 30. but i would imagine there is a lot of people who voted yes. i don't like we're butting this way. it should not be this way but the alternative is terrible. let's move on to the death penalty. 99 presents reporting in. 53% said no, we're gonna keep it. 47% said yes, we're talking about this a little bit earlier about how big of a decision it was for the people. but it looks like that the people said let's keep it. if you think about it, it is somewhat surprising as it -- this was hardly even talked about. it wasn't even a big talker. if you think about two years ago when kamala harris was running for attorney general.

the biggest hit was her being soft on the death penalty. >> it was sold as a cost, sold as an issue as its keeper and there's -- >> exit polling and previous poms in recent weeks showed that people were not necessarily turned off to the death penalty because they found it >> three strikes. people are saying, let's fix that. it doesn't quite work the way people want it to work. now we're changing the rules. >> i think cost was the big reason. we're talking about the -- about the cost of holding all of these people. >> i don't think people are

feeling warm and fuzzy in their hearts -- hearts. i think most of it, again, came down to coasts. but what a surprise the fick turnaround it was like 7 passengers. it was after the polly klaas case. let's do something about it. >> let's fix it, cheap -- make it cheap -- fix it, make it cheaper. >> yes. >> we'll be back with you randy. thank you. it was a big night for sporters of -- supporterses of gay marriage. supporters of gay marriage.

two ballot measures legalizing recreational marijuana, they passed in colorado and washington state. the washington state's initiative 502 would create a system of state license in marijuana growers and retail stores where adults would be able to buy up to an ounce of marijuana. it also sets up a blood test limit for driving under the influence. many people experts expect the justice department to try to block this by suing. and 62% of voters voted no on

elected to another four-year term. let's take a look at the electoral map. president obama has at least 303 electoral votes. 207 -- 270 are needed to win the white house. now, the popular vote, now, that's a lot closer with the president at 50% compared to mitt romney's 48%. after declaring victory, the president addressed thousands of supporters and volunteers in chicago. >> with your stories and your struggles, i return to the white house more determined and more inspired than ever about the work needed and the future that lies ahead. [ cheers ] >> president obama and his family spent the night in chicago. they will be flying back to washington this afternoon. back here in california, governor brown claims victory for what he calls the california dream. voters approved proposition 30 by a 54-46% vote.

ktvu's tara moriarty is in san francisco to explain what the vote means for california public schools. we spoke to the principal here at mission high school where public schools, they've really gotten a bad rap. many have struggled with test scores. he was extremely stressed as he was waiting for the results to come in. luckily for him and the student, prop 30 did pass. this will raise the sales tax and increase income taxes for those making $250,000 a year. up to 3 percentage points for up to seven years. it's projected to raise up to $6 billion a year for schools. it keeps them out of the red for trigger cuts. >> prop 3 -- prop 30 is like a band-aid, it will help us from gushing blood out. but i don't think it's the answer. we should be able to fund education at a high level.

>> now, governor brown spoke to supporters at the sheridan and he toll the coalition of parents, and teachers and students that nowhere in the country would people vote for -- >> this is or four schools for our kids for our california dreams. [ cheers ] >> reporter: san francisco voters overwhelmingly decided to approve prop 0 as did people in alameda and santa cruz counties. but folks inland in those more rural areas shot it down. now, governor jerry brown is expected to hold a press conference later this morning to discuss the election results. we'll tell you what he has to see -- we'll tell you what he has to say coming up at noon. now, californians rejected a rival tax measure. proposition 38 with 28% voting

yes, 72% voting no. it was funded by millionaire attorney and -- that would have raised the taxes of upper and middle class incomes. that was one big upset here about a race here in the bay area. >> claudine wong has more. >> we'll talk about that race and a couple of others. i want to take you -- i want to take you right to the race here. when you talk about an upset, it's right here. this is district 15. the lines we had a top two primary system and you had two democrats facing off in that district but this has been better in stark's district, almost a decade longer than his challenger has been alive. after holding the seat for 40 years, he's out and the

challenger is in. he won 53% compared to stark's 47%. and that's with 100% of precincts reporting. a couple of other close races to note, we want to go back to district three so she can show you what's happening over there. this is john garamendi's seat. here are the numbers. 54%. 46 there. he can beat out kim band. the district needed grocery store politics -- politics but he does -- garamendi holding on to the seat. we want to go to jerry mcnerney. what happened there? a close race. gop challenger getting 46% of the vote. mcnerney staying in that seat with 54%. if we go back to the big map, 14 up for grabs, 1 incumbents,

clueing pelosi, lee, speier, all headed back to the capitol and most do it in decisive action. >> all right. thank you. democrats still control the senate. there are a couple of tight races. one of the results has just been released. >> what this means for lawmakers going forward and for any hopes of the gridlock opening. >> the city of richmond's hotly contested sota tax was defeated. it would have improse -- inposed a penny tax. if it passed. research mind would have had the first one in the nation. the american beverage association -- proposition 37 is also -- is also doe feeted.

it lost 53% to 47%. a cabdriver was injured in a crash in san francisco overnight. it happened around 4:15 this morning on 8th and natoma. the cab driver lost control, hit two parked cars and a sparking meter before crashing into the side ofp the market. the firefighters had to use the jaws of life to get him out. it's not clear and oakland police are warning the public about an attempted winning of -- kidnapping of a 14-year-old- year-old. police say a man drabbed the --ed the girl from behind and tried to drag her into a car drink be -- driven by a second man. police say the -- describe the vehicle as an extended cab.

uncertainty over what the election will mean for the u.s. economy and worries about europe have sent stocks plunging on wall street. europe's economy is still reeling and unemployment will remain high for years. taking a live look at the big board, the dow dropping below the 13,000 at 12,917. it's down 328 points. analysts say this could have happened no matter the outcome of the election. the nasdaq is down 77. that's down over 2.5%. s&p down 35. well, if the white house was just another mansion for sale, its price would be up since the last presidential election. zillow says the current value

four years. also income taxes for the next seven years in those households earning more than $250,000. and democrats still control the senate, republicans have kept their majority in the house of representatives. so that leads to the question what happens now with congress basically in a status quo. randy shandobil here to talk to us about what's ahead. you've just heard the president say he's never been more hopeful -- >> well, i am afraid he's about to be disappointed. in terms of big picture washington politics nothing has really changed. republicans control the house of representatives. so in terms of does the president have a mandate?

well, he comfortably won the electoral college but the popular vote was almost evenly split. republicans were not cooperating back then, so why would they cooperate right now? >> i mean, do you feel like -- even though he won that maybe on the other side of it, they are saying, well, now, we need to stick to other guns even more otherwise we've lost power. if we work together -- >> judging beits -- by the early remarks late last night, joan boehner said we have our own mandates. we still believe that americans don't want to higher taxes and they want things a certain way and mitch mcconnell said much of the same thing, the senate minority leader in the senate. so they are pretty much sticking to the guns publicly. but you have to wonder do they

look at things big picture and long-term trends and say we're losing the democratic war here. they were trying to appeal to a -- dash they were trying to appeal -- they were trying to appeal to -- at what point do the voters say we're just sick of it? >> well, americans have been saying we're just tick of -- sick of it for years. that doesn't seem to matter. in fact, "60 minutes" 20 minute was with mitch mcconnell and harry reid sitting together trying to get -- trying to get them to agree and they couldn't. they don't seem to mind. >> but harry reid at least extending the olive branch, okay, now that it's all done, let's -- >> they always extend olive branches. [laughter] >> maybe something will change.

but i sewn -- i don't see the optimism. they said two years ago, they said that four years ago. >> you're not painting a very good picture for us. >> it could change. but if it does, the president has to decide is he gonna be the leader of change that he promised he would be four years ago? he's not been that president or will he try to reach across the aisle and be more moderate? and republicans have to decide do we want to stick to the guns and block the president on many issues or do we want to look forward and say, are we losing with latinos and gaining in population. there's more voters of voting age. we're using the democratic war in terms of the train. so if republicans change and start to coop trait it will be because they are looking ahead and saying we have to change.

breaking news from central america. we've gotten word of a magnitude 7.5 earthquake off guatemala's coast. the quake was centered 28 miles southwest of champariko. there's no word of damage or a possible tsunami. but once again, a 7.5 earthquake just reported off the coast of guatemala. voters in birkly rejected the controversial sit/lie law. the measure would have banned sitting and lying in that area at certain times of the day and the night. the meche ure lost 52 -- measure lost, 52% to 48%. voters defeated a
